The end of the week

Well, we've reached the end of our 9 performance tour. One more to go tonight here at a private party. We've had a great time peforming for everyone here in Phoenix. Everyone has been so, so supportive and we feel honored to be able to perform for such great audiences.

Yesterday at Basha High School, we were truly inspired by the great musicianship of the kids there. They are working hard, and deserve to be recognized for their achievements. It reminded me a lot of Hilton High School were Tyler and I went. With dedicated teachers generating a great interest in music for their students. A special thanks to Matt Kocazek for bringing us out, it was certainnly a fantastic time for us!

This week has been the most successful for the band ever, I think. We bonded so much as a band, and the music has reached levels that it has never been before. The tunes sound great, and I can't wait to see where it goes in the future. One thing I wish was different though, was that we could have had Mike Frederick our guitarist here with us.

Also, we sold 50 CD's this week! We are just about out of CD's! If anyone that came to our shows still wants to get a copy, feel free to buy it on CD Baby or Itunes!

Stay tuned for more photos from this week, there are tons, and videos on youtube!

A deep, heartfelt thank you needs to go out to the guys that came out here this week : Chris Teal, Ben Thomas, Chris Ziemba, and Tyler Gauldin. Thank you guys you made this experience a memorable one and we will be sure to come out this way again!

And one last thank you to Fluoresco Lighting and Sign for their AMAZING support of us, and the arts!!!

Thanks for checking out our blog this week, and this will turn into a quick place to update our site between major updates so be sure to stay tunes

Thursday

Another exciting day in the desert for sure! We put on a workshop at a fantastic school with great kids - Centennial High School in Peoria. Although it was quite a drive, we certainly found some ways to pass the time (particularly by Tyler's antics). The kids at this workshop were great, they really had developed into pretty solid musical performers.

The gig at Mama Java's Coffee was definitely solid musically, although the crowd was less than desirable. I guess Thursday night isn't a big night to go out and hear some music in this town... We did meet some great people that did come out that night though, and I have confidence that we will be back in Phoenix again, probably January of 2010! If your school might be interested and is in or near (within a few hours) Pheonix, feel free to contact us!

Well it's time to rest up for our big day at Basha High School. I'm sure this will be the best performance yet!

I've apparently uploaded too many photos on my account at Flikr so stay tuned for more photos!

Wednesday

Well Wednesday was quite an eventful day. Because of the scheduling mishaps of yesterday, we were able to have a free day to do whatever we wanted so we decided to go out for a hike. We went to South Mountain Park and hiked up to what they call telegraph pass, and we continued on past that for a bit. Be sure to check out todays photos for some pictures...

The concert tonight was great, the band was playing well, the audience was very receptive, and we had a great venue to play at. We were at Esperanza Lutheran Church and we had a fantastic time. A special thanks to Dave Coste for arranging to have us perform there this evening! Also it's necessary to thank Fluoresco Lighting and Sign for their support of our tour!

Tuesday

Wow, What a day. Woke up at 5AM to get to the TV station to play on Good Morning Arizona, that was a blast! We were supposed to have 4 spots on the show, but only ended up with one. Technical difficulties and Roland Burris trumped us playing music...

Check out a video of our performance at: http://www.azfamily.com/video/gmaz-index.html?nvid=318982&shu=1

After that we headed quickly back through the crazy Arizona traffic to do our first workshop of the week for Kyrene Middle Schooler's. It was a great time, and I think the kids enjoyed being exposed to some new music, and the best part was getting them involved and playing along!

Our next stop brought us to St Mary's High School near downtown Phoenix. The school was great, and we had a great time giving their brand new jazz department a jump start.

After three gigs the guys were starving so we decided to check out the local fare (or what we thought it might be...) and had a great Mexican dinner at a nice little restaurant.

Wednesday (because of a scheduling mishap) is shaping up to be a nice relaxing day out in the desert. We don't have to play until 7PM, so we'll be hangin' around for most of the day.

Stay tuned for more details from the rest of the week!
